Budget Korean Skincare & Health Update

navigate to this website I can’t believe it’s been a week already since the first ‘Sunday Cuppa’ blog. I’m really enjoying writing these and doing a kind of ‘week in focus’. There have also been two budget skincare products that have completely shocked me and I’ve made a part of my everyday routine which I’ll come onto at the end of this post which every girl needs in their skincare collection!

bdswiss forum I’ve spent a lot of time this week at home. I haven’t spoken out much about my health apart from being coeliac, but the past 12 months I’ve been battling something that has really changed my lifestyle, health and self confidence that I decided I wanted to keep private. Consequently, my immune system isn’t great so I can get quite ill and since February I noticed something wasn’t right. I know this is embarrassing for a lot of women to talk about, so I wanted to talk about it here as a place to share our stories and advice with each other. I was in a huge amount of pain in my pelvic area, my urine had blood in it and I would regularly lose control of my bladder. This happens often when I’m in public places and I’ve started to need to go to the toilet up to about 6 times an hour. I went for tests earlier this year but they sent me away with a few pain killers. I’m a true believer in not giving up when it comes to healthcare, so I went back and asked for more tests. Turns out I have a kidney infection, so as painful as it is, I’m relieved to finally know what it is.

Köp Viagra Upplands Väsby So I’ve had a lot of ‘me’ time this week. We had so much rain and one night I decided to sleep up in the loft. It was amazing falling asleep and waking up to the sound of rain, I find it so comforting. Then last night Dave and I spent time outside wrapped up in blankets watching the meteor shower. I had to drag him outside but it was so worth it. If you ever get the chance to do that, take the time to go outside and look up. It’s the most beautiful thing you’ll ever see and share with someone, shooting stars and the whole sky lighting up with meteors. I don’t know why but I feel incredibly close to those who aren’t here anymore when I look at the stars.

broker binario Dave surprised me with a delivery of gluten free bread mix this week when I wasn’t feeling well. One of the things I miss the most being coeliac is freshly baked crusty bread. He found an amazing company called Rana’s Artisan Bread. After her diagnosis she set out to create the most amazing bread mixes that people could easily make at home, and she did it. I baked my first sourdough loaf this week, and I was blown away at how good is tasted and how much it smelt and looked like bread! You just mix it with water and then put it in a bag that they give you. Pop it in the oven and then 80 minutes later you have your very own gluten free loaf. It’s genius and given me so much pleasure waking up and having marmalade toast! Plus the house smells so good after I’ve just baked it.

binäre optionen cci We went for a beautiful walk at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire this week. It’s one of my favourite places to go and I’d really recommend you visit if you ever get the chance. We thought about it for a wedding venue, but I think it’s a little too grand for what we are looking for. We are still so stuck in terms of the venue, so please leave any suggestions below! I’ve just posted our wedding planning video which you can watch here, we are away in Paris in the video and I’m really excited to share this first step with you all.

I’ve heard a lot of hype around Korean beauty products and I have to be honest the ones that I’ve tried have really disappointed me. I decided to give it one last try, this time with the AragoSpa aqua deep cream. It uses a type of thermal water which is really lightweight but fast absorbing and hydrating. First of all it smells gorgeous, quite citrusy but not too overpowering. The cream is one of the best day creams I had EVER used, both Dave and I are now fighting over it in the morning. This is good for combination or dry skin, it’s quite thick so if you have oily skin I’d look to see if they have an alternative version for you. It hydrated immediately, left my skin softer than most of my high end ones do, and is on sale for £16 if you can find a site that hasn’t sold out because it’s that good!

This claims to make you look like you’ve had 8 hours sleep even if you haven’t, and has sold out a number of times mainly because of the £22 price tag! I was so sceptical about this because when I haven’t had 8 hours sleep I look dreadful and no cream can help me with that! I love the texture of this, it’s incredibly moisturising, again I would say only use this if you have either combination or dry skin. Unlike the one above, you need to stick with this for about a week until you really SEE the difference. You’ll feel it straight away but after about a week I genuinely felt much better about my skin, especially because I was ill. It still doesn’t beat my all time favourite Elemis Marine cream, but it’s a winner for me if you don’t want to pay the price tag of that and I love the rose  packaging!

The Sunday Cuppa

Happy Friday my little lovelies. It’s the first weekend in August and despite a gloomy forecast of rain, I’m hoping to make August really positive and full of change. I’ve started a series over on my YouTube channel called #TeaDiaries where I sit down with a cuppa and talk about different topics, often very personal, and share my stories of life, family, relationships, health and all the things we go through in life. This week I talked all about why I lost all body confidence and how social media has had an impact on how we compare ourselves and see ourselves.

pic

My YouTube channel started out as a very chatty channel, and over the years it’s changed which inevitable happens when you buy snazzy cameras and editing programmes, so I wanted to get a little bit of where I started back. I’ve been notoriously bad at updating my blog because my videos get so much of my love and attention, so I’m going to start the Sunday Cuppa over on my blog. Each Sunday, I’m going to try to post something new on here, talking all about what I’ve been up to this week, newness I’m loving and any heart to heart topics I feel I want to talk about.

tea

So this week I went to Paris. Dave and I spent 24 hours in the city of love to celebrate our engagement and start wedding planning. It was a little overwhelming when we got home after getting engaged so we put talks on hold for a while to just enjoy being together. This week we’ve made some really exciting decisions, so I’m going to be posting a video in a week or so about future plans and also the most incredible trip and where we stayed and what we did. Foodie lovers you won’t want to miss that video!

pic1 pic2 pic3

We’ve also spent a lot of time in the garden growing my new tea garden (yes I’m growing all my own teas now!) and making the final touches to our new home. It’s been so nice taking pictures of the house coming along so we can document it. I’ve been photobombing so many of my photos with the Ribena Doodle Your World App. You might have seen a few go up on my Instagram. If you get addicted to filters or new things for your pictures then you’ll love this. I’ve seen a few go up of pineapples chasing people but I can’t get Bee to stay still for long enough! It’s really fun and once you start you won’t be able to stop!

pic4

pic5

And newness this week that I’ve been loving – The gorgeous Grace Victory bought out a book called No Filter. She’s one of the most down to earth bloggers I have ever met so I’m really excited to read this and the difficult obstacles she’s overcome in her life.

pic7

Oh and Zoella bought out her new ‘Jelly and Gelato‘ range of bath and body products, gelato themed, they smell absolutely amazing I can’t wait to try them and have a pamper session, I loved the last range so much!

pic6

Happy Friday guys and let me know what topics you’d like me to talk about next week.

CHRISTMAS PARTY NAIL ART!

When it comes to Christmas and the party season apart from wrapping presents and decorating the house I go all out with pampering myself and getting as festive as possible with nails! Last year I did penguins, and this year I wanted to try to do a different style on each finger. I’m so pleased with how they turned out and they were so easy to do so I wanted to show you how you can do something similar with yours!

sally1

So first of all, nail care is a really important part of your nail routine and Sally Hansen do some really good products for this. I’m trying to grow mine, so if you can prep before you paint you won’t be left with discoloured nails when all the partying is over!

img_0035

sally3

sally4

OK so seeing as Christmas is all about red, I picked out two different shades of the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in bordeaux glow (the darker red) and rhapsody red. I love these gels, they are so thick and shiny and you don’t need a light to set them just the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel top coat. Plus they are much easier to take off than normal gel, you just use nail polish remover. These are incredible polishes, I tell everyone to have at least one in their makeup collection! I first got hooked on Sally Hansen with all the nail care and nail growth range when I was a teenager, and now I’m slowly building up the colours. The brush is really wide too which makes it a dream to paint your nails.

img_0037

sally2

Once you’ve got two coats of colour on, let it dry. Have a bit of a me moment and let it really dry well because otherwise you’ll smudge the polish when it comes to painting nail art. I used nail gems which I picked up from the market and the Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pen. At the moment this is free when you buy any two Sally Hansen products from Superdrug. Shake it really well to get the colour on the tip and then you’re ready to go.

sally5

For my thumb I did a christmas tree just by doing zig zags and a gem at the top. Try to do all the designs with the top at your cuticle, then it looks the right way up in photos…..it’s all about the Instagram pictures right?! Next along I did two silver lines and two lines of gems. I painted this on the ‘bordeaux glow’ colour so it stood out more. To stick the gems on wait until the silver pen has dried, then paint a coat of the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat on and stick on the gems, then put another layer of the top coat on to secure them even more. The snowflake is my favourite and actually really easy to do. Just draw a cross, then another cross diagonally so you’ve got your eight lines and then add on the little flecks. Then put a gem in the middle. Next was my present so again first do a cross, then add little circles for the bows and then a gem in the middle. Finally, for my little finger because I love sparkles so much I covered the whole nail in gems. If you can’t go all out at Christmas when can you??

Then paint a layer of the Sally Hansen gel top coat over the top to make them really shine and it will help the nail art last for longer when you’re out partying! There are over 40 shades in the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel collection as well as the top coat and you can get one for £9.99 here  I really want to see your festive nails so make sure you tag me (@talkbeckytalk) and I’ll be reposting your pictures! Which is your favourite nail? Love Becky x

TALKBECKYTALK HOLIDAY MAKEUP MUST HAVES!

I wanted to share with you guys a few special photos from my holiday and to tell you a little about where I went, what I got up to and my holiday beauty must haves. I had always wanted to go to Ibiza so I booked a week with my mum and her friend. We actually had a week of rain (only this could happen to me!) so it meant lots of free time in my hotel room getting ready for our evening meals with the products I had packed.

 MAX1 MAX2 MAX3

I love getting ready when I’m on holiday but I do have to change my usual makeup routine with less makeup and stick to a few cult staples of mine. Besides cramming as many minis as I can in my case, I always turn to makeup palettes which allow me to change my makeup up each night without having to pack my whole collection. The first palette I took was my Max Factor Masterpiece nude palette. There are 3 in the range, my favourite is the ‘golden nudes’ because it’s filled with natural browns and the option to make things a little smokier! My mum loves the ‘rose nudes’ because it has more pink in it and my sister loves ‘cappucino nudes’ because it’s great for darker more dramatic eyes! The pigmentation on these are great, and you get 8 shades for £14.99. I wore this most nights as there’s a shade for pretty much whatever you’re wearing.

  MAX4

The second palette I took was the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette, perfect for a bit of radiance on holiday. I’d had my eye on this since it came out and a friend of mine bought me it as a surprise! First of all the colour payoff is incredible. I don’t own too much Charlotte Tilbury but the more I try the more I realise just how worth the money it is. This palette has a 2 blushers, a bronzer, highlighter and 3 eye primers and colour so it’s perfect for when you’re on the go.

 MAX6 MAX7

I stayed in a yoga retreat just a few miles out of Ibiza town, and then headed to stay near the Old Castle for the last few days. The food was amazing, and my top tip if you visit would be to hire a car so you can find all the beautiful beaches and places to eat!

 MAX8

I can’t be without a mascara on holiday and this year I packed my Max Factor Masterpiece Max. Some of you guys will know I pretty much cleared the drugstores out of the Max Factor Masterpiece Transform (in brown) in my TalkBeckyTalk YouTube videos so it’s time for a new one for me! The wand on this is pretty cool. I love the end of it because you can pack loads of the product on your lashes and then the wand helps to separate and build up to 400% volume perfect for some serious lashes! I don’t get that horrible dropdown with Max Factor mascaras and it’s even more important for me when I’m in the heat!

I also packed the Clarins Eye Makeup Double Fix which claims to make your favourite mascaras and eyebrow products waterproof. I swam in this and it did run a little but I have to say it kept my mascara on all day without running and did last against the rain and sweat!

 MAX9

To complete the eyes, I packed my Max Factor Masterpiece Long Wear Eyeliner. This is a really great eyeliner if you want a product that can create a number of looks. I used the edge on holiday for a really subtle liner which stayed on all night (it’s meant to stay for 12 hours). If you use the thick side it creates a really high impact look. I’ve actually done a video showing you how to create that smoky “cat eyes” look using the Max Factor mascara, eyeshadow and liner I’ve just talked about if you click here. My sister wears this look in the evenings on holiday and it’s perfect for me when I’m at home going out. Go say hi under the video!

 MAX10 MAX11

Finally, apart from a box of good lip balms, for me holidays are all about the hair! So I live off dry shampoo because it gets so tangled and greasy! My two favourites are the Pantene Pro V Instant Refresh and the COLab Sheer and Invisible. I love them because they are two of the few dry shampoos that actually make your hair look good again but don’t feel really gritty and dusty which puts a lot of people off using them. I can’t decide which I prefer but they are both really affordable and I get through so much that I always take two cans away with me!

I’m actually giving away three of the Max Factor eyeshadow palettes so you have something for your holidays too! Comment below telling me which one is your favourite and why – cappuccino nudes, pink nudes or golden nudes.

 MAX12

Here’s to some sunshine, even in the rain, it felt so wonderful and relaxing to be away! On the last night we sat and watched the sun go down, it was so magical.

Summer Makeup Must-Haves

Summer holidays are pretty much what I live for! The sunshine, the pool, friends…..I never want to come home! I don’t often do this but I wanted to write a little post about my holiday to share a few holiday pictures and also to give you a sneaky peek of what I got up to.

holiday1 holiday2

I went to a place called Kas in in Turkey with my sister Holly and a few of our friends. It was the most beautiful fishing town and I just fell in love with how beautiful it was and how friendly everyone was. We ate so much of the local food and went out for the day on a boat which was just amazing.

holiday5 holiday8 holiday9

I wanted to share one of my outfits from an evening out whilst I was there. My outfit is from Pretty Little Thing. I’m really lazy when it comes to makeup and hair when I’m on holiday but I still like to look dressed up! For my hair I’ve used the Pantene Pro V UV Protection spray. It helps to protect my hair in the sunshine and makes it really easy to style as it softens the curls that I get when I’m swimming and my hair drys. So for makeup I’m using my Benefit Do The Hoola makeup kit. When I’m travelling I love finding collections of miniature products to take away and Benefit do this really well. You get a lipgloss, mascara, powdered bronzer, liquid bronzer and balm. Most of them are hero products, the only thing I don’t get on so well with is the liquid bronzer as it doesn’t blend well for me. Instead I put a layer of my Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturiser to give me a little bit of colour and coverage. And because holidays are all about the dewy glow, I’ve used my Max Factor Excess Shimmer eyeshadow in Copper. The staying power and pigmentation on this is incredible. I’m obsessed with the bronze one and this one is perfect for the summer months. Finally for my lips I’m wearing the Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balm in Refined Rose which has been my go-to summer lip product. It’s packed full of moisture and can either be used as a sheer balm, or built up to give you a really pigmented colour. I love it.

Tarte Makeup Has Arrived in the UK!

My inner makeup geek is literally doing backflips right now with this set. It’s probably the most excited I’ve been in a long time about getting anything new! Tarte’s 6 piece Best Face Forward Make-Up Collection is here in the UK. Yes you heard me right, here in the UK!

tarte 1

It’s one of those USA brands that everyone talks about but we can’t get our hands on here in England….until now. You can now buy Tarte products on QVC and there are so many of their hero products and sets like this on sale. Whenever I’m over in the USA this is one of the first brands I stock up on because the products are so good. Everything in this set is a hero product, so it’s not surprising it’s selling out in a few of the shades already!

tarte mascara

tarte lips

First of all the bag itself is going to be my holiday makeup bag it’s just gorgeous. The Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 mascara has been in my top 10 mascaras for a while now. It’s really good if you want statement lashes that you can build up to look really thick and black. The Amazonian clay eyeshadow palette is perfect for me because it’s all neutrals! The shadows are quite matte and pigmented which is good if you get oily eyelids like me! Then you’ve got the LipSurgence lip creme in honeysuckle pink. Again I like nudes and pinks so this is good for me. It’s really moisturising and smells so nice with the peppermint and jojoba oil. It does say it’s meant to stay all day but I always need a top up after a few hours, probably from drinking so much tea!

tarte brush tarte cc tarte powder

You also get the double-ended complexion brush which is exclusive to QVC so I was glad to get my hands on this. I’m obsessed with flat end brushes for buffing in concealer. The coloured clay bronzer blush in pink bronze is so pretty to have in a makeup collection. I’ve got really pale skin and it isn’t too dark on me so I’m excited to try and see the different ways I can use this. Finally you get the coloured clay cc primer. This divides people a little and I still can’t make my mind up about this! The stick is made up of light lavender and mint green colours along with the primer which is meant to help reduce redness and neutralise your skin. It’s really easy to apply and blends into one colour, so you could wear this on it’s own as a light foundation. The staying power on this is amazing and it makes my skin look so much smoother. The downsides are that it’s quite waxy so my skin doesn’t take too well to it, and my dry patches tend to look a little drier. That said, I still enjoy using it but just not everyday!

The set is £46.50 and I’ve seen it on sale previously for £38.40. You’re saving so much money, even if there is one product you’re not so keen on. So I’m going to be stocking up on these for presents for friends. Keep checking on QVC as they change their deals each day and the sets that go on there. You can see all the QVC products they’ve got here. I am so excited to see what pops up over the summer online, I had no idea you could buy online from QVC so I think I’ve found my new go-to online shop! So welcome to the UK Tarte, I hope you’re well stocked up for us British girls! Have you tried any Tarte makeup before? What’s your favourite? Becky x

Available for £46.60 on QVC here.

TUTORIAL: Festival Hairstyles

It’s that time of year again. The sun comes out and our instagram feed fills up with beautiful outfits and festival hairstyles. I was lucky enough to go to Coachella this year in America and got so much inspiration for summer hair so I wanted to write a post about it.

Coachella blog 1 coachella1 coachella3

I’ve always been a bit afraid of trying new hairstyles because I have tried to follow a few tutorials and they never end up looking as they should do! So I wanted to create 3 styles that are really easy to do, but still look really good! The first thing that you’ll need to do is make sure you wash your hair with a decent shampoo and conditioner that is going to keep your hair nice and clean for a few days and isn’t going to leave it too heavy to style. So I’d recommend using the Pantene Pro V Expert Collection Hydra Intensify Shampoo and Conditioner. I have really damaged, coloured hair so this little duo is amazing at making everything feel much better again! My hair felt so soft after using this but unlike some of the other collections I’ve used like this it didn’t make my hair feel heavy which makes it impossible to style!

coachella blog 2

coachella blog4

So onto the first look which is great if you have long hair. Scrape your hair to one side and make a really chunky plait whilst lifting it up. Flip the plait over one side and grip it in place. Then find a hair tie or wired band to lock it in place and finish your outfit.

coachella blog6

coachella blog5

Onto the second look which is great for all hair lengths and is probably one of my favourites. First of all you need to make sure the top of your hairs and the lengths are nice and smooth and are going to style well. I’ve picked the Pantene Pro V Expert Collection Velvet creme infusion which is one of my go-to styling products of the moment. It smooths everything down and gets rid of flyaway hairs but doesn’t leave my hair looking greasy. Once that’s applied, find a pretty hair band and place it over your head but don’t tuck it under your hair. Then taking sections of about 1 inch, twirl the hair round and tuck it through the band at the back. Repeat this all the way around your head until all the hair is up. This look needs a bit of maintenance as you go through the day in terms of putting a few bits back in if it falls out but it looks so beautiful!

coachella blog7

coachella blog3

Finally onto the third look which is really good for all hair lengths and is vintage inspired! Take a section of hair from the front of your head and use your fingers to create a roll of hair that finishes at the front of your face to one side. Pin it in place and then take some hairspray to set it. I’ve chosen my Nioxin 3D Styling NioSpray Strong Hold. I’ve raved about Nioxin treatments for years in terms of thickening and helping to grow my hair, so I was so excited when they announced they were bringing out a styling range. This hairspray thickens your hair so it looks full of volume, and it doesn’t feel sticky when you spray it in. I’m on my third can in just a few months! You can either leave the hair like this or find an accessory to place around your head or to the side. I’m obsessed with flowers for festivals so I’ve chosen these.

Hair is only one part of the look for a festival so make sure you check out my festival product essentials video over on the Beauty Recommended YouTube channel which talks through a few products that will make sure you’re looking good but aren’t having to pack your whole makeup collection! Make sure you subscribe here to the Beauty Recommended channel too so you don’t miss any of my videos! I can’t wait to see all your summer and festival photos too. Make sure you tag me on twitter and instagram and i’ll be retweeting anyone who recreates these hairstyles! Love Becky x

Faking it: Bondi Sands Tan

It’s that time of year again, it’s getting warmer and all I can think about is getting out the summer clothes and hopefully having a bit of a (fake) tan to go with them! I’ve dabbled over the years with pretty much everything out there so I was really excited when I heard a new one was coming to the UK.

bondi sands

Bondi Sands is already huge over in Australia. It was created by a couple of Aussies and getting straight to the point….you’re not going to smell like biscuits! One of my pet hates about tan is the fusty smell and this one has finally bucked the trend. It’s coconut scented so literally smells like cocoa butter. When I walk into my sisters room as she’s been using it I’m always asking her what body butter she’s got on and it’s this.

The tan comes in both a lotion and a foam, so whatever texture you prefer they’ve got it covered. They also come in two shades, light/medium and dark. I usually use darker tans but the colour on the lighter one is enough for me at the moment. Come summer or nights out i’ll be reaching for the dark more and more. It’s really easy to apply, I had a few patches that needed blending but I get that with all tans. You need to leave it on for about 6 hours and then wash it off. I tend to do this overnight and sleep in dark clothes so it doesn’t ruin the sheets.

This has fast become one of my new favourite tans, and at £14.99 it compares really well with the high end ones that I think it rivals.

The Bondi Sands range is available in Superdrug or online here.

Airbrushed party legs with Sally Hansen

It’s that time of year again, the Christmas parties start and it’s time to get the legs out, having fast faded back to pale from the long-gone summer sun! Now when it comes to fake tan, I tend to be a little lazy. I never seem to leave enough time aside before events so I think I’ve found a better solution from Sally Hansen!

IMG_7403

I first found the Airbrush Legs when I was out in America over in the Spring for Vidcon. My legs were looking so blotchy and I had packed a load of dresses to wear so I gave this a try. The concept is pretty easy, spray, rub and go! The tan comes in a can that you hold a little way away from your skin and then spray on. I’m not usually a fan of spray on tans but I loved this so much I went and got 3 cans! It literally looks as if your legs have been airbrushed! There is a slight sparkle to the tan, almost as if you’ve got clear tights on with a little sheen, so subtle that I don’t think it’s shown up on camera very well. Here’s the before and after.

legs

In terms of application, either do this over a dark towel or in the shower as it can spray in places you don’t want it too. I find the best way is to actually spray into your hand and then rub into your legs. The smell of it is quite nice actually, not like a usual fake tan, and it’s easy to wash off your hands so you don’t need to faff around with a glove.

The tan lasts about 3 or 4 days for me, and even after then i’ve still got a nice colour on my legs. The winner for me about this was the way it blurs your legs. You’re not just getting a colour, somehow it manages to even everything out so it literally looks as if you’re wearing tights. I really hate my legs, I have little red veins and cellulite and with this it’s almost invisible so I feel fine to go out with no tights on. I’m hooked! The only thing I would say is make sure you shower before you go to bed, it has a habbit of rubbing off on sheets so after your party or event, shower the bulk of it off so it doesn’t get on your sheets!

This is one of my new party favourites and is honestly so easy to do if you hate putting tan on like me! It’s on offer at the moment in Superdrug for £6.66 or drugstores if you’re in the US. I got mine in light but there is medium and dark is you have darker skin than me. What’s your party must-have? Becky x
